Football is a simple game made complicated at times. The terminology, the tactics, the data, the analytics and so forth. Our aim at Laduma Analytics is to bring all that together and make the game simple again.
Data is everywhere and helps businesses in their decision-making. Why do football clubs not follow suit? After all, deep down they are a business whether we as coaches and fans like it or not.
There are numerous ways in which the data can be used to make informed decisions at all levels of the club – and that is where Laduma Analytics comes in. We are a group of coaches, data analysts and accountants but ultimately fans of the beautiful game. We do not aim to be a data provider but rather a data interpreter. What stories are in the spreadsheets about your players & team(s); how are you performing versus expectation?; are there gems to be unearthed in the league and if so…where?

The data is helpful for identifying certain aspects that the team and or player does well but for that to be effective in scouting, we need to understand the style of play that your club is looking to play. From there, the video should help marry the data with what we are seeing visually of the player that you are looking to bring in. It goes without saying that the player should also be a ‘realistic target’ for the club to afford.
Our approach is to use existing information to help maximise the chance of each scouting/opposition/player being a success. We fully accept that player recruitment also entails many other aspects that we simply cannot predict and therefore never will be fully 100% successful.
